China?

So it looks like i will actually be going to China (if i can ever manage to get my re-entry permit). Tony, Norman and a bunch of my other Chinese-American friends and i will be heading to the land of SARS for a crazy three week vacation. Either way it should make for a really interesting experience.

And, if everything works out i am also going to Korea in January (or maybe February), Saipan (in a couple of weeks from now) and back home to SF for a couple of weeks in February. Can't wait!!!

How it all got started...

At the end of this summer i moved from my every-so-blandly named "College Residence" Exchange Student dorm near Nijyou Station (in Kyoto, Japan), to an independent 1985esc apartment complex called Amenity that's much closer to the school. Written in standard Japanese ignore-me-English-text is the unusually grammatically correct tagline of the Amenity Community Establishment: "A place for people to meet". I giggle evertime i read that sign. Where as at College Residence i knew all 24 of my International Neighbors quite intemently, i have never even seen my neighbors once here. Oh, well, it's a tradeoff of sorts.

Anway, as i was moving in, two of my friends from my Uni were moving out and gave me a bunch of their stuff. Bookshelves, a gas burner, a phone, random books, and, ugh, a lot of rice. I mean, like, around 20kilos. All tolled four ginormous bags. At first i thought it was a sign from God... "Eat the rice" but then i realized my real purpose in life. And that's how i became... The Rice Pusher.
